Dr. William P. Welty
Founder & Chairman of the SWANsat™ Board, and Trustee of Themelios CRA TrustIn the 1980s, as owner of Continental Satellite, Dr Welty obtained one of the very first licenses for DBS (direct broadcast systems) via satellite. He later masterminded the SWANsat™ concept, negotiating with various countries to obtain rights for key parts of the w-band frequencies for SWANsat™. Dr Welty is also the Executive Director of the ISV Foundation, having graduated from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School with a Master’s in 1978 and Louisiana Baptist University with a PhD in Communications in 2005. He taught for 10 years at Simon Greenleaf University (now part of Trinity Law School, Santa Ana, California) and is an expert in ancient languages.
President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - SWANsat™Mr Sisk pioneered the prototype software for a revolutionary search engine technology called “Multisearch”, which will allow more user control over internet search and will protect data and privacy. Prior to this he had success with various dotcom companies, one of the most successful being PhysicianWork that for over 10 years was the leading physician recruitment/jobs website in the United States (as reported by New England Journal of Medicine). In earlier years Mr Sisk was a senior production engineer supporting companies such as AT&T/Lucent Technologies, Starlight International and World Cup Soccer. These unique experiences over 30+ years have given Mr Sisk a valuable combination of business, technical and creative skills that allow him to see the big picture, fully understand the technical challenges facing the world today, and to communicate his vision of the future to others.
Dr. Ron Clark
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - SWANsat Aerospace (a subsidiary of SWANsat™)Dr Clark is responsible for building and launching the SWANsat system and he has already assembled an impressive team of engineers. He spent over 20 years as a senior director at Lockheed Martin Space Systems, and his final position was Director of Future Technologies. Prior to this he was Director of Naval Technology for the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) for 3 years. For 10 years he was also the Program Director of the GPS III satellite system.
Dr. Steven Elwart
Chief Operations Officer (COO) - SWANsat™Dr Elwart has spent 40 years in the infrastructure sector, during which he has been responsible for resource selection and custody transfers, planning and economics & process engineering. Dr Elwart is an expert in the areas of Information Technology and Industrial Control Systems, but has worked in other areas as diverse as refining, retail sales and fleeting operations. He has served as Director of Systems Engineering, Chief Process Engineer and Manager of Economics and Planning for several national and international companies. Dr Elwart is extensively involved in management roles within various universities, state & federal government agencies and professional technical societies. He is a past member of the advisory board for Emerson Process Management and Invensys Process Automation. He is currently working with the Departments of Homeland Security and Energy as a Subject Matter Expert on cyber security. Dr Elwart is also a member of several federal Control System Working Groups. In those roles, he helped craft the “Roadmap to Secure Control Systems in the Energy Sector”. Dr Elwart holds a PhD from Louisiana Baptist University.
Dr. James Kajete
Vice President, Europe & Africa Operations - SWANsat™James M. Kajete (PhD) is also the CEO & Chairman Board of Directors of UHURU Group of Companies and a consultant at Stratagem Global, loves and has passion to New Institutional Economics (NIE), an economic perspective that attempts to extend economics by focusing on the social, legal norms and rules that underlie economic activity with analysis beyond earlier institutional economics and neoclassical economics. Born in Uganda and living in Germany, he has a BSc. and an MSc. Degrees in Agricultural Sciences from the institute of tropical and sub-tropical agricultural sciences of Leipzig university in Germany. From 1996 to 1999, he was a research scientist and member of staff at the Institute of rural development of Georg-August University, researching on formal and informal financial markets in Africa. In 2003, Kajete obtained a doctorate degree in agricultural sciences from Martin-Luther- University in Germany. From 2004 to 2014, he was the European representative of NEPAD Council and chairman of its commission of socio-economic development &trade, heading the NEPAD Council Europe Office. Kajete has worked on European Union Africa developments funded projects and with several companies/organizations including REWE and REAL firms, Deutsche-Forst Consult GmbH, former Uganda Commercial Bank’s Rural Famers Scheme in Kampala Uganda, among others.
Chief Communications & Marketing Officer - SWANsat™Mr Rix is a British born marketing and corporate communications professional. He graduated in Astrophysics from University College London in 1993 (majoring in science communication and the public understanding of science) then worked in the UK Parliament before entering the commercial world, providing marketing and communications support to a number of high profile global brands, as well as to a selection of public sector bodies and senior politicians, including a number of international Prime Ministers and Presidents. In addition to his Astrophysics degree, Mr Rix also has a graduate certificate in Education from the University of Cumbria and a post-graduate certificate in Energy Policy from the University of Exeter.
Director of Public Affairs - SWANsat™Charles is co-founder of the Stratagem Group and leads on our Policy, Research and Regulatory Affairs Practice across the group. He has spent much of the last decade working across Africa running communications campaigns on behalf of a range of clients, from governments, to corporates and NGOs, as well as political parties and candidates – winning five Presidential election campaigns in five years. Charles’s background was originally as a lobbyist in the UK and Europe for over 20 years; his campaigns have ranged from increased funding for renewable energy, to founding a patient advocacy coalition on rare diseases, to managing crisis communications for the Liberian Government during the Ebola Outbreak and the Government of Kenya following the Westgate Mall Attack. He has also worked for the UNDP, editing the five-year review of Kenya’s strategic development plan, Vision 2030.
Tom E. Marzullo
Chief Creative OfficerTom E. Marzullo is recognized as a leader in the creative design, technical direction and production of event presentations. His work includes live, televised and recorded media projects. His ability to assemble and apply the latest technology to enhance the talents of performers as well as offer creative direction to entertainers and corporate executives has been a key element in the development of spectacular events spanning three and a half decades. Tom has created, designed and directed the production of international tours for numerous superstars including Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Prince, KISS, Luther Vandross, Bugs Bunny on Broadway and George Benson, and has provided the creative design for televised appearances with many of those clients and others including Ariana Grande, Austin Mahone and The Band Perry. In addition to production design and management of major concert tours, he has utilized his skills in the design and presentation of live and televised events and projects for some of the most respected leaders in entertainment as well as the corporate and sports world, including AEG Live, Radio City Music Hall Productions, Chateau Versailles, Coca Cola, World Cup Soccer, the NFL, BET, MTV, AT&T and Starlight International. Tom is also the winner of the prestigious 2013 Parnelli Award for Set and Scenic Designer of the Year.
Jill Sarnoff Riola
Intellectual Property AttorneyMs. Riola is a shareholder at Carlton Fields in the Intellectual Property and Technology Group. She specializes in intellectual property protection and enforcement, including domestic and international litigation and transactional matters, with an emphasis on complex technology licensing, manufacturing and distribution agreements, IP issues in corporate M&A, and the like. Ms. Riola received her law degree from New York University School of Law, and was previously Senior Trademark Counsel for Apple Computer.
Mr. Richter recently retired as the Executive Vice President, Small Business of the U.S. Export Import Bank. He lead all Ex-Im Bank activities to identify and educate U.S. small-business exporters in order to attract them to the Bank’s product offerings. His 30 years of international management experience includes executive positions with Mercury Marine, a division of the Brunswick Corporation, where he was responsible for marketing, sales, and credit in national and international markets. He has also worked in that capacity for the Master Lock Company and a division of Uniroyal Corporation. His broad sector experience includes chemicals, consumer goods, and hardware.He also served as Ex-Im Bank regional director for Africa where he was responsible for bank-wide strategic planning, business reviews, and management reporting. Prior to joining Ex-Im Bank he worked for the U.S. Trade and Development Agency as the regional director for Africa and the Middle East. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin and his Masters of International Management from the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management, specializing in finance and international business.
